Travel Resources

Over the course of the past couple of years, I’ve managed to save thousands, of dollars on airfare, hotels, and in general for the trips I’ve been on. This comes down to a few things – due diligence, flexibility, patience, and timing. Hopefully these travel resources below will outline tools that I utilize, help you plan, and continue to grow & evolve.

Flight Search Engines I use:
  • Matrix.itasoftware.com
  • Kayak Explore
  • Hipmunk
  • Google Flights
  • Skyscanner
  • Momondo
  • Adioso
  • Skiplagged
  • Expedia
  • Orbitz
  • Priceline
Lodging Websites I use:
  • AirBnB (Get $25 for Free!!)
  • Couchsurfing
  • Trampolinn
  • PointsHound
  • RocketMiles
  • HostelBookers
  • HostelWorld
  • HotelTonight
Other Resources & Apps I use:
  • TripIt Pro
  • LoungeBuddy

Travel Gear I use varies a lot of the type of trip that I am taking. Some week long trips, I can manage with just a small 15L-20L backpack. However for the longer trips that I take, I usually utilize my Osprey 46L Exos bag that I snagged from a REI Garage Sale. If you’re looking for what sort of bag to purchase for your trip, I’ll eventually be writing up a pack-buying guide.
