Using T-Mobile Internationally – My Personal Experience

Having recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile to save some money, I was pleasantly surprised finding out about their included international capabilities. Having now been to six different countries while a T-Mobile customer, using T-Mobile internationally has been an amazing experience.

Having been packed and ready to purchase a SIM card while abroad on my recent Europe/Japan trip, I was surprised to find out that T-Mobile includes international data & texting. Rather than paying ridiculous international data fees with Verizon or another telecom company, some of the features included in the select T-Mobile Simple Choice plan:
  • Unlimited 3G Data
  • Unlimited Texting
  • $0.20/minute on phone calls (rates may vary)

Since T-Mobile is owned by Duetsch Telecom, it has a wide coverage over most of Europe, Asia, etc. You can see that they currently provide coverage to more than 120 countries worldwide.

While using T-Mobile Internationally, I have been completely amazed by my experience so far. Whether it is being able to update Journey Unknown’s Instagram feed, letting friends & family know I’ve arrived, and navigating with Google Maps – T-Mobile has impressed me.

In order to get this amazing aspect of T-Mobile, you must have a compatible device and the appropriate plan. I recommend reaching out to your local T-Mobile Store, calling their customer support line at 1-800-T-MOBILE, or by looking at their website.

Do you have an experience using T-Mobile or another provider abroad? Leave a comment below.
